Benjamin Vanmuysen is the 2019-20 Boghosian Fellow at Syracuse University, where he is currently conducting a research project on design extremes. Prior to his fellowship appointment, he practiced architecture in offices in the USA and Europe, including Diller Scofidio + Renfro and Reiser + Umemoto in New York and the Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam. He obtained his M.Arch degree at Princeton University and studied at the Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles after receiving his B.Sc. in Engineering-Architecture from the KU Leuven in Belgium. His work has been published and exhibited internationally in South Korea, France, Belgium and the United States. Benjamin is an architectural designer, obsessive model maker, educator and researcher who is deeply interested in aesthetic conflicts.
