Lustre Pendente
WEDGE Gallery
Woodbury University, School of Architecture
Exhibition: October 18 2024 - November 1, 2024
Lustre Pendente embodies a 30' long featherweight chandelier suspended 64” off the ground. Unlike a classical chandelier, its six branches droop downwards and are illuminated with LED rope light. Its supple geometry stems from a polyurethane foam study model which was translated into a tectonic wireframe. The installation aims to exert enchantment and to be read as a suspended three-dimensional drawing constructed out of compression members, tension cables, LED rope and mesh fabric.
